Star Dust Restaurant Review

Voted one of Western Cape’s top five restaurants and recipient of the GQ 2005 ‘bar manager of the year award’, StarDust is without doubt a place worth checking out. This comes with just one warning though; its relaxed ambience will certainly have you coming back for more. The restaurant is located conveniently on the Rondebosch main road, with free galore and safe parking just across the street. The mood of the restaurant is inviting and you are guaranteed an unforgettable evening whether you are dining alone or catching up with a group of friends over their large selection of cocktails. Only fresh fruits are used in the cocktails.

The waitrons are all professional performers from top performing art schools in Cape Town. Stand-up comedy, musicals, dance recitals are just some of the shows you can expect. What’s more, you will not be kicked out if you desire to stay and just bask in its reassuring atmosphere after your dinner. The bar is open till 2 am. It’s all about entertaining you while educating your palates with its unique diverse Mediterranean inspired food. This is the one place you’d want to get adventurous and messy over your food and forget about the fork and knife.
The food is fresh and comes at prices that won’t dent your pocket. Be sure to try the Tagine, which is their specialty dish. It consists of oven baked Moroccan stew, and served in traditional Tagine earthenware pots with your choice of four lip smacking flavours. Vegetarians also have a huge selection of mouthwatering dishes.
The place is highly recommended if you are looking to make the clock disappear.

This is the place that had to turn away Tom Cruise and his entourage because the restaurant was full. So yes, booking ahead of time is essential. Busy nights of the week are Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday.
